Dietary Supplements

Dietary supplements come in all manner of variety, including vitamins, shakes, herbs and plants, liquids or chewable sources, and more. While not a viable alternative for actual food, they are best used to provide the body with essential vitamins, minerals, and other healthy substances that may be lacking in a regular diet. In addition to providing essential vitamins and nutrients, dietary supplements can also be utilized to provide aid for a number of health or mental conditions. These types of dietary supplements are typically natural and herbal in nature. Aiding in everything from depression to immunity to a sore throat to menstrual pain to constipation, dietary supplements are often an effective tool in treating various ailments. While many dietary supplements are not regulated by the FDA because of their herbal nature, they have become a popular alternative to chemically manufactured pharmaceuticals. However, it is still recommended that you talk to a physician first before taking dietary supplements, as there are some restrictions, especially for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
